Lamplighters OHCE hold meeting

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at a local church. Joan Herr offered opening prayer and called the meeting to order. Carol Stine led the flag salute and gave a devotional titled “Abide in Christ.”

Maxine Little read minutes of the previous meeting, with Patricia Morrison giving the treasury report. It was noted that gift bags will be assembled at the group’s next meeting on March 9 for residents of a local care center.

Local students named to UCO honor rolls

The University of Central Oklahoma recently announced a list of students named to the university’s honor rolls.

For the fall 2021 semester, 1,523 students were named to the President’s Honor Roll, an honor achieved by those who recorded a straight-A or 4.0 GPA. In addition, 1,524 students were named to the Dean’s Honor Roll with a 3.5 GPA or better for the semester and no grade lower than a B.

County’s Underwood Oklahoma HCE holds monthly gathering

The Underwood Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently in the home of Ann Ricketts.

Natalia Valenzuela called the meeting to order and led the flag salute. 

Ricketts gave the treasury report, with Bernita Davis reading minutes of the previous meeting.

Members discussed the need for volunteers to serve as county officers and were given OHCE volunteer hours tally sheets to record their volunteer hours from other sources.

Vicki Duncan handed out 2022 yearbooks.

Lamplighters OHC of Canadian County met recently at a local church, with Joan Herr calling the meeting to order and offering opening prayer.

Carol Stine gave a devotional titled “Who Helps the Helpers.”

Maxine Little read minutes of the previous meeting, with Patricia Morrison giving the treasury report.

Thank-you cards were read from the Intervention and Crisis Advocacy Network for the group’s support and also from Sheriff Chris West for the throws donated to the sheriff’s department.
