Adventures in beer making

Body

There are many forms of art. One is making beer.

A new brewery is opening up in Okarche. Called Expedinture Brewery, it is owned by a team of five men with ties to Okarche — Heath Robinson, Keith Griesel, Cody White, Michael Vogt and Thomas Vogt.

“It’s a mash-up of ‘expedition’ and ‘adventure’,” said Robinson. “Our slogan is ‘Not quite an EXPEDITION, but more than an ADVENTURE.’”

Robinson said the team has brewed beer off and on for more than a decade, kicking it up a notch over the last few years making their own original recipes.

Red, white and blue

Body

From his first snap as a Little League player through four years on varsity, El Reno High School senior Rafe Goucher has always worn a jersey with the color blue.

However, that will all change come July when Goucher puts on the jersey that he and every other player this side of Interstate 35 dreams of stretching over their shoulder pads – that red and white jersey of a West All-Stater.

“Since I was 7 years old I’ve only worn blue so that will be weird. However, it will still say All-State or West on it and that will be a huge honor.
