El Reno High School’s softball team is struggling through a six-game losing streak which has left the Indians in a downward spiral in the District 5A-1 rankings.

Four of the six losses have come on the road, the latest being a two-game setback at Guymon.

The losses to the Tigers dropped the Indians to sixth in the league standing at 2-7.

El Reno is now 8-14 on the season.

In the opening game with the Tigers, a 5-1 loss, El Reno scored in the top of the first when Kenzi Mutzig singled in Sidney Barber. However, the Indians got only walks by Taryn Wahweah and Bailey Brothers and a Mutzig single over the next 13 batters.

El Reno ended the game with six base hits as Mutzig went 2-for-3. Emily Ryan, Barber, Brothers and Raelyn Kouba all singled in the loss.

Tori Webster shouldered the loss from the circle with a line of 11 hits, five runs and one strikeout.

Game two was a 15-5 win for the Tigers as Webster was tagged for 15 runs off 12 hits and a walk while striking out four batters.

El Reno had six hits as Barber went 2-for-3 with a run scored and another run batted in. Mutzig singled and logged two ribbies and scored a run. Ashlee Houston singled and scored as did Kouba, while Reese Davis singled in a run.

The Titans won the first league meeting of the year after building a 15-0 lead before El Reno scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to avoid the shutout.

Ryan hit a two-out single and went to second on a one-bagger by Barber. Makylah Hunt then slapped a three-run homer off the roof of the batting facility in left center field.

El Reno had seven hits in the loss as Barber went 3-for-3 with a run scored. Ryan was 2-for-3 and Jayci Hicks added a single.
