On Monday night El Reno High School head football coach Chuck Atchison will be hosting a town hall-type meeting to discuss the future plans for expansion and renovations at Memorial Stadium.

“I want to invite everyone who is interested to come to the meeting,” said Atchison.

The multi-phase plan for the El Reno Multipurpose Complex was unveiled last year to the El Reno School Board, which voted to allow the head coach to begin preliminary fundraising efforts.

At the board reveal, both Atchison and El Reno Superintendent Craig McVay estimated the entire plan would run roughly $20 million.

The first phase of that plan would be switching the playing surface at Memorial Stadium from natural grass to artificial turf. El Reno is currently one of less than 10 schools in Class 5A which does not play on an artificial field.

“We want people to know what is going on. We have got a fundraising guy already going at this time and we wanted to make people aware of what is going on,” said Atchison.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. inside the STEM Center.
