Dec. 29, 1920 - Dec. 31, 2018
Allene Hale Bollinger of Union City passed away on Dec. 31, 2018, in El Reno. She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Oklahoma City to Ronald H. and Cora Harrison Hale. Her childhood was spent in Oklahoma City and Union City and she attended El Reno High School. She married C. Eldon Bollinger in 1937 and they were married for 64 years and raised two children.
Allene was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children. She was extremely active in her children’s school, 4-H and FFA, and church activities. She was a talented seamstress, designing and making her own clothing as well as outfits for her children. After her children were grown, she was very active in the OSU Extension Home Demonstration Clubs, serving as the county president and state secretary. In these roles she planned several cultural bus tours to locations around Oklahoma and Texas.
Throughout her life she loved the Lord, enjoyed singing, reading and helping and enjoying the company of her many family members and their children. One of Allene and Eldon’s great joys was having their nieces, nephews and grandchildren spend summers at their farm.
Allene was a faithful servant to the Lord and a dedicated member of her church. She was first a member of Riverview Baptist Church and then First Baptist Church of Union City, when the churches merged in 1964. She taught Sunday school for 50 years where she influenced the lives of many children, led the music program for 20 years, and led many youth programs and outings.
Allene will be remembered for many things, but mostly for her unwavering faith in the Lord, her lifelong example of the power of prayer, and her love and care for family and friends where she always saw their goodness and encouraged their gifts and talents.
