Etta Dale Junior High's baseball team swept a twinbill from Western Heights last week, with the varsity squad improving to 3-7 on the season.
The varsity defeated the Jets 13-2, getting a four-hit pitching performance from Jake Dye. He scattered both runs along with five walks and six strikeouts over five innings of work.
Bailey Denny led an 11-hit attack with a 3-for-3 effort with two runs driven in. Dye helped his own cause with a 2-for-3 showing, while Justin Brown doubled for one of his two hits. Dye and Brown combined for six ribbies.
Blake Dauphin, Mason Archer, Toby Goode and Kevin Hendersen all singled in the win.
El Reno's junior varsity picked up a 9-2 win, with Dwight Pape and Denny having a hit each. Ben Sieger threw three innings for the win, allowing two runs off a hit and a walk - fanning six batters.
